Different authors have defined different BPM maturity models (BPMM - Business Process Maturity Model) throughout history. The company can be guided in different BPM Maturity Models to evolve its process orientation. Then I do a comparison of several reference models. I include my model BPMM (Robledo, 2014) based on 7 key BPM success factors :
- STRATEGY: Aligning Processes to Enterprise Strategy
- PROCESS: Identification, Analysis, Modeling, Design and Process Automation. Including defining business rules and automated processes for decision-making.
- TECHNOLOGY: Applying BPM Technologies for the different phases of the Business Process Management: modeling, design, automation, integration and monitoring. And the implementation of technological trends (Social, Mobility, Big Data, Cloud and Internet of Things).
- PEOPLE: BPM knowledge and skills, responsibilities, and leadership behaviors.
- GOVERNMENT: Control and management of BPM initiatives and their implementation with BPMS. Defining Dashboards that enable a predictive, proactive and reactive real-time analysis of the performance, operation and achievement of business goals. BPM Center of Excellence.
- METHODS: adopting well-defined and repeatable formal methodologies to implement BPM
- CULTURE: Culture of the organization towards process management. Process-oriented organizational structure.
