The
analyst Gartner Inc. has published its Magic Quadrant for Enterprise
Architecture Tools on 24 May 2017. Enterprise
architecture (EA) and technology innovation leaders face unprecedented change
and will likely require an EA tool to enable them to manage complexity more
effectively. This research informs them of the main EA tool vendors in an
evolving marketplace driven by the dynamics of digital business, that it
includes the following vendors: Avolution, BiZZdesign, BOC Group, Erwin, Mega, Orbus
Software, Planview, QualiWare, Software AG, Sparx Systems and Unicom Systems.
Recognition
as leaders (execute well against their current vision and are well positioned
for tomorrow) was given to Software AG,
Avolution, Mega, QualiWare and BiZZdesign.
Gartner
has evaluated all vendors individually and did not rank or score them against
each other. As Gartner explains, the inclusion in the Magic Quadrant does not
necessarily mean that a vendor is capable for the needs of a particular user
organization, but it can help when the evaluation is doing as the decision will
depend of the specific evaluation criteria.
Gartner
expects that EA will continue to play an active and significant role in the
transformation to digital business, so these digital business requirements will
increase the purchase and use of EA tools by organizations of all sizes.
